Castle Grafeneck

This photo series is dedicated to a place in Germany, where the industrial mass murder happened for the first time on 18. January 1940.
Today this place is a memorial site and a resort for travellers in the middle of the beautiful countryside. This is precisely what attracted me and drew my attention to discover this area, without knowing about the cruel history of this place. After getting to know it, I have been always going back and expressing my feelings through pictures. The constantly changing and rainy weather has also taken part in reflecting the dramatic mood of the area. In order to emphasize this mood I have skilfully edited the pictures in Lightroom and applied stronger colour and light contrasts.

In my home country Moldova, ceramic and sculpture were my passion and profession at the same time. In addition to that - digital creation of static / moving graphics and video clips at the television broadcaster “Teleradio – Moldova“, where I worked as a video graphic designer for over one decade. My fate brought me to Germany where I continue pursuing my calling by making photography, graphics, video and web design.
